The Institute for Transformative Teaching, Learning and Leadership

A network for professional learning and student success

The Institute for Transformational Teaching, Learning and Leadership (ITTLL) addresses the needs of faculty, staff and students in academic and student affairs. We bring programs together under one umbrella for the benefit of our CCBC community.

The ITTLL utilizes existing and new evidence-based initiatives by providing learning opportunities. We provide access to programs that build community, support equity and promote student achievement at CCBC.

How we serve

ITTLL is a collaborative effort between the offices of Teaching and Learning and College Life.

Within ITTLL, the Center for Professional and Organizational Learning creates and curates ongoing professional development for faculty and staff, helping them stay current with the latest instructional practices. This is achieved through adjunct faculty centers, college-wide events (including conferences and awards), faculty orientations, faculty learning communities, and the Teaching Learning Roundtable.

Transformational Pedagogies is a central resource for innovative teaching strategies. We believe in utilizing evidence-based practices, Learning Community classes, Global Education, the Institute for Social & Economic Justice, Service Learning, Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning and more.

Through the college's DEIB Campus Coordinators, the ITTLL hub can help inform campus and college DEIB programming, offering support for the President’s DEIB Council. This "bottom up" approach will help close the gap on student success at CCBC.

To enhance student involvement and success, through a joint effort with the Student Engagement Office, ITTLL will utilize civic engagement and community-based learning activities as well as co-curricular activities and related programming.
