Papers. Exams. Late nights. You've persevered through it all - and now it's time to celebrate at the 2026 Commencement! You've earned it, and we couldn't be more proud of your accomplishment. As always, tickets are not sold or required for guests to attend Commencement. However, seating is limited so we recommend bringing no more than six guests.

This is a special occasion! Dress nice but keep an eye on weather to dress accordingly. We usually recommend wearing light, breathable fabrics and shoes with low or no heel since you’ll be walking through grassy areas and taking stairs to walk onstage.

Each year, we select a student who has shown exemplary leadership and service to earn the President’s Distinguished Graduate (PDG) Award. The recipient receives a $2,500 transfer scholarship and delivers the commencement address.
We will be accepting applications from January 26, 2026 through March 13, 2026.
Isaac Njoroge's determination, academic excellence and commitment to community engagement have earned him the title of CCBC's 2025 President's Distinguished Graduate.
Each year, Commencement takes place outdoors beneath the ceremony tent by the Wellness and Athletic Center on the CCBC Essex campus. Below you will find details on how to get to campus and where to park.
Important parking notice:
Please note: These instructions below are intended to assist you in getting to the ceremony. Exit the campus at the direction of CCBC Public Safety personnel.
CCBC Essex is located off Baltimore Beltway (695) Exit 34 (Rosedale). To get to campus, please follow the instructions below.
Note to CCBC faculty/staff, drivers with disabilities and senior attendees: Enter the campus from Rossville Boulevard and remain in the right lane. Turn right onto Division Lane and then turn right onto Alpha Bay. Continue straight, crossing South Lane and continuing on College Drive South.
We ask that all graduates and guests who do not require accessibility parking please park in one of the following open/general parking lots or overflow parking kindly provided by Franklin Square Medical Center:

Guests who require accessibility parking are invited to park in the lot closest to the Wellness and Athletics center below:
Individuals with limited mobility and/or requiring assistance will be directed to designated parking upon arrival at the Rossville Boulevard entrance to the campus. These vehicles should enter using the right lane.
CCBC Public Safety officers will be accommodating and evaluating parking requests when permits are not displayed (as in the case of an elderly or infirm individual who cannot walk a long distance). Such persons may also be dropped off at the Wellness and Athletics Center before the vehicle is parked.
