Credit by Military Experience

Earn college credit for your military service.

Whether you've taken military courses, completed training or have extensive work experience in a particular field, CCBC can help you earn college credit for your service.

Our faculty typically use the following documents to evaluate for course credit:

• JST or CCAF transcripts
• ACE recommendations
• Occupational exhibits

This option is ideal for military students who have college-level experience with aviation, business, criminal justice and transportation, among many other military-related fields.

CLEP and DSST exams

CCBC is a DANTES Fully Funded test center

Each year, nearly 50,000 military service members as well as eligible spouses and civil service employees take CLEP or DSST exams to reach their education goals. Because the exams are funded through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), you may be eligible for an exam fee waiver!

Next steps:

• Apply to CCBC and select a program of study. If you have since changed your program of study, be sure to update your student record. 
• Submit official documentation of all prior learning including college and/or military transcripts to the Registrar's Office. View JST submission instructions.
• Complete our Transfer Evaluation form. If your exam has a CCBC course equivalency that is required for your program, we will apply those credits toward your degree. This process takes a few weeks.
