Discover career options and prepare for college life, all while saving you time and money. The best part — ECAP is open to all Maryland residents in grades nine through 12, including public, private and homeschool students.

How it works

Maryland high school students pay 50% of CCBC tuition through the Parallel Enrollment Program (PEP). This discount is open to public, private and homeschool students. You pay the other half of tuition, plus fees, books and supplies.

PEP lets you register for any course you have the prerequisites for. Choose credit courses that earn college credits, or continuing education courses that lead to a certificate. Classes are held online or at one of CCBC's six locations.

Talk with your high school counselor first. Together you can confirm you are ready for college coursework and choose courses that fit your schedule and goals.

BCPS students at CCBC

CCBC partners with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) in a variety of ways. Talk with your BCPS counselor before you enroll in any CCBC course. Your counselor will confirm which programs you qualify for and review the requirements with you.

You can take any course at CCBC as long as you meet the prerequisites (and it works with your schedule). This includes credit courses, for which you will earn college credits, and non-credit/continuing education courses that lead to a certificate or credential.

Through the Dual Credit Program, you can earn high school and college credit for the same CCBC course. Courses must be on the BCPS Dual Credit course list to qualify, which is subject to change each school year.

In addition, the CCBC ECAP Curriculum Map is a guide that outlines course options and credit pathways, empowering you to align your high school experiences with future academic and career goals.

Every ECAP student receives a 50% tuition discount through CCBC's Parallel Enrollment Program. BCPS calls this the Tuition Discount program.

For students who attend BCPS, you may also be eligible for additional savings:

The Tuition Free Program covers tuition, fees and books. To qualify, you must meet the BCPS standards for College and Career Readiness (CCR). Limits apply to how many free courses you can take and when you can take them. Ask your BCPS counselor whether you qualify.

Adding CCBC classes to your schedule is easy with our flexible formats, including:

  • Online
  • At one of our six CCBC locations
  • At your BCPS high school (offered during the school day or after school). Check with your high school counselor to see if your school offers this option.
