Opera Vs. Oratorio (ART 925)

Continuing Education Course

Compare and contrast the forms of Opera and Oratorio and examine their influence upon each other by listening to the great works of composers such as Handel and Verdi. Students will listen to side-by-side comparisons of the composer's works in order to understand and enjoy how the Oratorio brought the passion and drama of Opera to the scared Biblical stories and texts.
