Is a first semester course for students needing a full year of organic chemistry; discusses the chemistry of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons and their derivatives, their syntheses, nomenclature, reactions, mechanisms, stereochemistry and uses. Concurrent enrollment in CHEM 201 is highly recommended. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.

Prerequisite(s): Minimum grade of "C" in CHEM 133 Lecture Hours per week: 3 Recitation Hours per week: 1.
