Examines the historical development of the juvenile justice system, including the rights and procedures granted to juveniles throughout the system. Emphasis is placed on risk and protective factors in relation to personal, family, and community factors that contribute to delinquency. This course also explores prevention and treatment methods and evaluates their effectiveness. Formerly offered as EDTR 223 and CRJU 223, earn credit for one only. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.

Prerequisite(s): ACLT 053 or (ESOL 052 and ESOL 054).
