Is an overview of the principles and practices of public health. Students are introduced to the history of public health and the structure of the public health system. Topics include preventing disease, prolonging life, and promoting health through the organized efforts and informed choices of individuals and society. The role that law and government play in the public's health is also discussed. Course offered every fall, spring and may be offered during additional sessions.
