CCBC’s CAHIIM-accredited HIIT program offers both an associate degree in Health Informatics and Information Technology and a credit certificate in Medical Coding. Each of these programs will get you hands-on experience with healthcare IT systems and build a strong foundation in medical coding, preparing you to earn industry certification and step right into in-demand careers in hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, and beyond.

The Health Informatics and Information Technology accreditor of the Community College of Baltimore County is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the Associate degree in Health Informatics and Information Technology has been reaffirmed through 2024. Successful completion of the program awards an A.A.S. degree. Graduates can choose from a variety of work settings across an array of health care environments in roles as health information technicians, clinical documentation specialist, compliance managers, quality assurance officers and health data analysts.
