The student will learn how to plan and manage diverse crops in an urban/suburban setting. Students will take an in-depth exploration in the business end of running a productive urban/suburban farm operation, from insurance to record-keeping to identifying sales outlets. On-farm hands-on experiences, financial planning, food safety practices, starting a business, filing annual reports, and navigating the Farm Service Agency and resources will be covered.
