Examines the music of the Baroque and Classical periods. Students study and write altered chords; write and perform figured bass, study musical forms including the fugue and the basics of instrumentation. Course offered once a year (fall or spring).

Prerequisite(s): Grade of "C" or better in MUSC 114 or qualifying exam or written permission of instructor.
