CCBC in three words: opportunity, community and networking.
International student Evgeny Zabolotnykgh already had a degree in Civil Engineering from a university in his native Russia, but he wanted to change careers. After carefully researching colleges in the United States, he chose CCBC for its well-rounded Interior Design program and affordable tuition.
“I am a very visual person and love design,” said Zabolotnykgh, who is from Saint Petersburg.
I have always wanted to help people make their interiors more beautiful and comfortable. I would love to help people design their dreams and bring their wildest ideas to life.
What Zabolotnykgh likes about CCBC’s Interior Design program is that it offers a lot of hands-on activities, such as project development and color theory, along with opportunities for students, such as collaborations with design shops and exhibitions with other schools.
“I think that CCBC offers an excellent combination of price and quality,” said Zabolotnykgh. “This is a good choice for those who want to get a degree and save money.”
Zabolotnykgh is impressed with the Interior Design faculty at CCBC, many of whom have more than 20 years of experience and own their own businesses. He also thinks the mandatory internship program is important, as this will provide him with essential work experience before graduating with his associate degree.
“This makes CCBC students more competitive in the job market compared to other colleges,” he said. “I want to become one of the best interior designers in the DMV [District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia] area.”
In addition to being one of CCBC’s Fresh Faces, Zabolotnykgh loves taking pictures, playing squash and practicing yoga. After graduating from CCBC, he would like to transfer to Morgan State University to complete his bachelor’s degree.
