Start your U.S. education at CCBC — welcoming F-1 students from around the world.

Each year, students from dozens of countries choose CCBC to begin or continue their higher education in the United States.

Located near Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, D.C., CCBC offers more than 300 degree and certificate programs in a community that celebrates diversity.

As an F-1 student at CCBC, you can:

Improve your English with ESOL classes designed for international learners.
Earn credits toward an associate degree.
Transfer your CCBC credits to another U.S. college or university.

Steps to apply

Follow the steps below to apply to CCBC as an F-1 international student. Already studying in the U.S.? Apply as an F-1 international transfer student.

F-1 international students do not use the online application. Instead, complete the PDF version of our free application for admission, along with the following:

Certified copy of your high school transcript in English.
Proof of English language proficiency. Submit one of the following official score reports:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 450 (paper) / 133 (computerized) / 45 (iBT). Use CCBC code #5137.
- IELTS: minimum score of 5.0
Proof of financial support. As an F-1 student, you must enroll in at least 12 credits per semester at the out-of-state tuition rate. Please provide original bank statements that:
- Are written in English on bank letterhead
- Show the sponsor's name as the account owner
- Are less than six months old
- Show a minimum of $26,411 in U.S. dollars
Completed Declaration of Financial Support form
Completed Personal Data Sheet
Photocopy of the data page of your passport

Note: Students from English speaking countries are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.

Mail or email your complete packet to the campus you plan to attend. Incomplete packets will not be reviewed.

International students must submit their complete packet by:

June 1 for the Fall semester
November 1 for the Spring semester

International athletic applicants: contact CCBC Athletics for separate deadlines.

Once your packet is received, an ISS counselor will review your application. If approved, you will receive:

a CCBC acceptance letter,
an I-20 form, and
information about the I-901 SEVIS fee by mail.

You will need these documents to apply for your F-1 visa. Learn more about F-1 visa requirements on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website
