Orientation: After you arrive, you will attend a mandatory F-1 International Student Orientation to meet other international students and get ready for your first semester.
Course placement: Most first-time F-1 students complete an ESOL placement test and a math placement exam.

Our campuses are located in Baltimore County, close to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City. Here is what to plan for before you arrive.
Public transportation in Baltimore is more limited than in many international cities. When choosing housing, consider how close you will be to campus. CCBC also offers a free shuttle between campuses.
Baltimore has a moderate climate. Average temperatures range from the low 20s (°F) in January to the mid-to-upper 80s (°F) in July.
CCBC does not offer on- or off-campus housing. International students arrange their own accommodations. We recommend finding housing close to public transportation or within walking distance of the campus you plan to attend.
We recommend opening a U.S. bank account as soon as you arrive. A checking account allows you to deposit funds, write checks and use ATMs or digital payment services.
F-1 visa regulations limit work authorization for international students. Students can apply for on-campus positions after completing two semesters. Off-campus work requires federal authorization. Current students can find detailed employment guidance in myCCBC.
International students are required to purchase health insurance and provide proof of coverage at the start of each fall and spring semester. We recommend completing health exams in your home country before traveling and bringing any needed prescriptions or medical supplies with you.
